R2 (Russell Garth Mikesell) sent R1 (Russell Scott Mikesell) his Flat Stanley (in a colorfully decorated envelope) to have an AZ adventure, and then be returned to Smithfield to report to his elementary school class.
Flat Stanley spent his first week on the Yuma test range stopping on the drive back for a prickly pear shake. (Uncle R1 has those pictures.) The second week Flat Stanley stayed in Tucson. Of course, he saw all the typical AZ sites - cactus, snakes, javalinas - and ate at Macayos.
He was invited to swim at the Summerhays' home - and played some golf afterwards.
That evening Flat Stanley attended Colin Flannery's production of "Papa Luigi" and ate Italian cruisine. (Yearly, Colin's youth group performs a musical - dinner included - to earn money for the children's charitites their youth ministry supports.) Of course, Flat Stanley made a donation!
Flat Stanley also supported the rally for education at the Riverfront Park - performing with Bethany's Wilson Soundwaves show choir. (Flat Stanley is grateful he doesn't sunburn. It was a very warm afternoon!!!)
Afterwards, Flat Stanley enjoyed an Eegee (AZ slushy with real fruit) with Bethany and friends.
Farewell Flat Stanley. It's been fun (and at times embarrassing) stopping the car to jump out and pose you. Have a safe return to R2!
